Band and Guard report to band room – 10:30 AM
Depart – 11:00 AM
Arrive – 12:00 PM
Warm-up – 1:00 PM
Performance – 2:00 PM
Depart Festival – 3:00 PM
Bus returns to AHS approx – 4:00 PM
Report to band room for game – 6:00 PM
Warm-up – 6:15 PM
Kickoff – 7:30 PM

What to bring:

Items needed for performance
Sun Screen
Change of clothes
Money for food, etc. Concessions will be available at the festival.

Directions to Rockmart High School:

I-20 W to Exit 24 (Hwy 61/Hwy 101N)
Turn Right off of interstate and go to three way stop
Turn Left at the three way stop and follow Hwy 101N to Hwy 278
Turn Left onto Hwy 278 and follow it to Hwy 113 (Cartersville Hwy)
Turn Right onto Hwy 113 and follow it 0.7 mi
Rockmart High School is on the Right

Band Schedule for Week of Sept. 27

Here's an updated schedule for the week of September 27:

Monday - Football Game AHS @ LSHS: Band will depart AHS as close to 5:00 as possible. Food will be provided after school

Tuesday - Rehearsal: 6:00-9:00

Thursday - Rehearsal: 4:00-7:00

Saturday - Yellow Jacket Marching Festival @ Rockmart HS: Time TBA

Latest Band News

Here's the latest news:

We are planning to rehearse tonight from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at Alexander. Please bring a bottle of water. Let me know ASAP if there is a reason you can not be there. If we have a lot of folks who can not attend, we may need to change plans. We are changing to 6:00 - 9:00 to allow people to get to the rehearsal. There are several that could not get transportation to school at 4:00. If you are still having problems and can not attend please let us know. We'll do the best we can. Keep checking the web site for updates.

The Lithia game has been moved to Monday at 6:30 PM. We will leave from the school as close to 5:00 PM as possible. This of course will cut one of our practices next week. We will practice on Tuesday from 6 - 9 and on Thursday from 4 - 7 PM. Please add this to your calendar.

I'm also asking you to please contact band members you know to let them know the information that we are giving you.

Please e-mail us and let us know if you won't be at rehearsal.

Show Choir Rehearsal

Attention all Show Choir members:

We will have a voluntary rehearsal at our normal time on Saturday, September 26. Anyone who can make it please be there by 9:30. Also please pass the word along to those who may not check the website. If anyone is unable to make it or needs anything, please e-mail Ms. Killian as soon as possible.

Football Game @ Lithia Springs

Friday's football game against Lithia Springs HS has been changed to Monday, September 28. Kickoff will be at 6:30. As more details become available we will let you know.

Band Schedule Changes

We will not have the Exhibition tonight (Tues, Sept 22).

If we have school on Thursday, practice will be from 4-7.

The band will be performing at the following Marching Band Festivals:

Yellow Jacket Classic - Rockmart, GA: Oct 3

Golden River Marching Festival - Tallapoosa, GA: Oct 17

Band Rehearsal Schedule

Due to the Fall Break we will be unable to rehearse on the Monday and Tuesday of the week of Oct 11. Because of this we are planning to add a rehearsal and extend a rehearsal to prepare for the Golden River Marching Festival on Oct 17. Please note the following tentative rehearsal schedule changes:

Wednesday, October 14: 4:00-5:30
Thursday, October 15: 4:00-7:00

Please let Mr. White or Mr. Daniel know of any problems with these changes as soon as possible.

Yard Sale!

The Performing Arts Boosters are hosting a yard sale at AHS on Saturday, September 19 to benefit students performing at Carnegie Hall in New York.
