Banneker Game

The AHS Varsity Football Game vs. Banneker HS on Friday, October 31 has been changed to a HOME game. As usual, kickoff will be at 7:30 PM.

Show Choir Rehearsals

In order to better prepare for our Fall Musical, the Show Choir is scheduled to rehearse at the following times:

Tuesday, October 21: 4-6
Friday, October 24: 4-6
Saturday, October 25: Dress Rehearsal
Tuesday, October 28: 4-6

Please plan to attend all of these rehearsals!

End of Season Band Schedule

Please remember that Marching Band and Color Guard rehearsals are now only on Thursdays after school. It is very important that everyone be at these rehearsals.

Congratulations to the Band and Color Guard for getting all Superior ratings at the Golden River Marching Festival!!! Thanks for all of the hard work that has been put in to making this season successful!

Golden River Marching Festival

2008 Golden River Marching Festival
Tallapoosa, GA
October 18, 2008

1. Band and Guard report to band room – 8:30 AM
2. Depart – 9:00 AM
3. Arrive – 10:00 AM
4. Warm-up – 11:20 AM
5. Performance – 12:20 PM
6. Festival Awards – 1:00 PM
7. JSU Performance – 10:45 PM
8. Bus returns to AHS approx – 12:30 AM - 1:00 AM

Please note: If there is enough interest there may be a bus available to bring students back early. Students will have the opportunity to sign up to come home early during the week. Students should sign-up no later than Friday morning if they intend to return early. If enough students sign-up the early bus will arrive back at Alexander at approximately 3:30PM.

What to bring:

1. Items needed for performance
2. Sun Screen
3. Change of clothes
4. Warm clothing (preferably layers: the afternoon is supposed to be warm, and the evening is supposed to be cool)
5. Money for food, pictures, etc. Concessions will be available at the festival. We will be eating lunch and dinner at the festival.

Directions to Golden River Festival:

I-20 W to Exit 11 (US Hwy 27 North)
Go to the traffic light at Hwy 120, turn left on Hwy 120 West
Travel through 1 traffic light
Haralson Co. High will be on the left (after you pass the middle school) about six miles from the last traffic light.

AHS @ Villa Rica

Report time for Friday, October 3 will be 5:00. Students should be on the buses at 5:30.

Cheesecake Delivery

Cheesecakes will be delivered on Thursday, October 2. Please make sure that they are picked up after school/rehearsal. They must be refrigerated/frozen.
