Musical Audition Procedures

Everyone who is auditioning for the Spring Musical needs to be at rehearsals on Thursday and Friday (2/18-19) from 4:00-5:30. Auditions will be held on Saturday, February 20. Students who were scheduled or need to be scheduled for a Friday audition will be scheduled on an individual basis. See Ms. Killian and Mr. Daniel for instructions.

The Spring Musical Dance Workshop scheduled for today (Feb. 12) and Spring Musical Auditions scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 13 have been postponed due to the cancellation of school/school activities.

Anyone auditioning for Spring Musical should be at the first two rehearsals (Thursday, Feb. 18 and Friday, Feb. 19). Auditions will take place on Saturday, February 20.

Attention anyone auditioning for Spring Musical:

Please check our website frequently for postponement information due to the weather. If we have bad weather such as snow or ice, notice will be posted here postponing the auditions and will include a make up date.

If nothing is posted on our site auditions will continue this Saturday, Feb. 13 as planned.

Auditions for the 2010 AHS Spring Musical

It is time to begin preparing for auditions for the 2010 Spring Musical. Each student should prepare a song with accompaniment only CD or tape. If you are interested in an acting part, a short monologue should be prepared. If you are interested in a student leadership position, you should choreograph a dance. Also for the audition, all students will be expected to come to one or both of our dance workshops that will be held after school. There, each student will learn a short dance to be presented at the audition. You can sign up to audition in the chorus room. Any questions should be directed to Ms. Killian.

Please download and print this important information about the NY Trip. It includes an itinerary as well as helpful tips.

NY Itinerary

If you are going on the trip and were not in Show Choir you will need to go to the PA Forms page and download, print, and complete pp. 3-7 of the Show Choir Forms. This includes very important medical information in case of emergency.

You need to go to www.cyberbass.com and listen to your part and rehearse the music.

NY Meeting

Dates/Times:
November 13, 2009 – Fri. 5:45 pm to 9:00 pm Rehearsal
November 14, 2009 – Sat. 9:00 am to 12:00 noon Rehearsal
2:00 noon to 1:30 pm Lunch Break
1:30 pm to ~ 4:15 pm Rehearsal
6:15 pm Final Rehearsal and Warm-up
7:00 pm Concert

Every effort will be made to ensure that all rehearsals begin and end on time. Please make arrangements for all transportation to and from the rehearsal and performance site. Students should be picked up immediately after rehearsals are concluded. Please note: All students must leave the school at 4:15 p.m. and return at 6:15 p.m. on the day of the performance. No student will be permitted to stay during this break.

What to Bring to Rehearsals:
Every participant should bring their honor choir music and a pencil to each rehearsal. A student cannot be effective while sharing music with another student. Water bottles are also recommended and encouraged.

Absences and Tardies:
Any student that misses rehearsal on Friday evening will not be permitted into rehearsal Saturday morning without a written Doctor’s excuse. Any student that misses a rehearsal on Saturday will not be permitted to perform in the concert. All students should be in their seats at least 10 minutes before rehearsal begins.

Conduct and Rehearsal Attire:
This is a school event. Appropriate school conduct is required. In addition, all students must follow the Douglas County School System dress code requirements. Any inappropriate behavior, inside or outside of rehearsals, will subject any student to dismissal from the chorus. Parents, chorus teachers and school principals will be notified immediately of any inappropriate behavior. Participation in this event is an honor and a privilege which carries with it responsibility. We do not expect any problems with conduct, but everyone should know the consequences in advance. Simply stated, respect the other participants, the directors and property. Following these guidelines will help ensure everyone has a great weekend.

Here's the latest news:

We are planning to rehearse tonight from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at Alexander. Please bring a bottle of water. Let me know ASAP if there is a reason you can not be there. If we have a lot of folks who can not attend, we may need to change plans. We are changing to 6:00 - 9:00 to allow people to get to the rehearsal. There are several that could not get transportation to school at 4:00. If you are still having problems and can not attend please let us know. We'll do the best we can. Keep checking the web site for updates.

The Lithia game has been moved to Monday at 6:30 PM. We will leave from the school as close to 5:00 PM as possible. This of course will cut one of our practices next week. We will practice on Tuesday from 6 - 9 and on Thursday from 4 - 7 PM. Please add this to your calendar.

I'm also asking you to please contact band members you know to let them know the information that we are giving you.

Please e-mail us and let us know if you won't be at rehearsal.

Due to the Fall Break we will be unable to rehearse on the Monday and Tuesday of the week of Oct 11. Because of this we are planning to add a rehearsal and extend a rehearsal to prepare for the Golden River Marching Festival on Oct 17. Please note the following tentative rehearsal schedule changes:

Wednesday, October 14: 4:00-5:30
Thursday, October 15: 4:00-7:00

Please let Mr. White or Mr. Daniel know of any problems with these changes as soon as possible.
